Director of RCRD (Resource Center for Rehabilitation and Development), Surya Prajapati comes from a background in political science, but turned to social work early in his career after spending a year in a remote village in the western district of Nepal.

Representatives on Constitutional Assembly
May 19, 2008 — rcrdnepaTwo people with disabilities are represented in the constitutional assembly of Nepal. There will be more people with disabilities added to the assembly at a later date.
The constitutional assembly was formed as a result of elections in April of 2008. The assembly will be writing a new constitution for the country.
RCRD Teaches How to Create Adaptive Devices

When RCRD does a training session in the creation of adaptive devices, the participants learn to fashion these devices from materials at hand. They can then go on to the villages where they will serve as disability field workers, and provide a valuable service to those in need of these devices.
